NEW YORK CITY WITH SIMON SHOPPING DESTINATIONS

First of, Happy New Year, wishing everyone a wonderful 2019! I am starting off the New Year with a post on my trip to New York City with Simon Shopping Destinations. You would have probably seen from my Instagram page (@symphonyofsilk)  a few photos and videos I posted in December 2018 of the trip. This blog post is a follow up and more about the trip.

When I received the invitation from the Simon Shopping Destination team inviting me to New York to check out their shopping destinations, I jumped at the chance. I mean, a trip to beautiful New York City, I couldn’t say no to that.

THE HOXTON HOTEL

We started the day meeting very early at London Heathrow airport and flying to John F. Kennedy airport. I met the other lovely Influencers also coming on the trip ( Lindsey, Liv and Sophia).

Upon arrival at NYC, with airport transfers all done, we checked in at the trendy  Hoxton Hotel, which is in Williamsburg, Brooklyn – I had heard so much good things about Williamsburg and also the Hoxton Hotel   so I was incredibly excited to experience a stay at the hotel and stay in the neighbourhood too. The Hoxton Hotel didn’t disappoint; the interiors are an Instagrammable dream, from brass finishes, pink sofas and minimal interiors. The rooms also have views of Manhattan skyline and also of Brooklyn as you will see from my photos. The Hoxton also have a rooftop terrace bar with wonderful views of New York at night.

THE SIMON SHOPPING DESTINATIONS

The purpose of the New York trip with was to discover all about the Simon Shopping Destinations, specifically The Mills at Jersey Gardens, Woodbury Common Premium Outlet and King of Prussia (in Philadelphia). All of the shopping destinations have a wide range of designer and High Street stores at discounts, particularly The Mills at Jersey and Woodburry Common Premium Outlet.

My favourite purchase was pair of Aquazurra shoes from the Saks store at The Mills at Jersey Gardens – they also had Valentino shoes and Saint Laurent, all at a discount.  I also went to the Levi’s store and got a pair of 501’s, I figured that you can never have too many jeans, right. King Of Prussia also had some Dior shoes on sale, see photos. Woodbury Common Premium Outlet also have stores like Balenciaga, Acne Studios, Celine, Max Mara and Chloe to name a few, all at year round discount. I managed to purchase wardrobe staples from Acne Studios and Theory.

With all the work side of the trip ticked off, we had some free time to explore Manhattan. I am not too familiar with New York, having been only once, so I was extremely grateful to have the PR for Simon Shopping Destination show me round all the spots of New York. All I can say is that New York is A DREAM at Christmas time – it is so festive. Straight out of those American Christmas movies, no kidding. The Christmas decorations and shop windows are so festive on a grand scale – we even saw a guy propose to his girlfriend at the Rockefeller Ice Rink, it was romantic and festive at the same time.

Good to know: It was relatively easy to get from New York City to the shopping Destinations, just allow enough time for the New York traffic (very important).

We visited: The Mills at Jersey Gardens (New Jersey) Woodbury Common Premium Outlets (Central Valley in New York area) and Kings of Prussia is in Philadelphia.

With thanks to the wonderful Simon Shopping Destination team for a wonderful trip. Thank you to the Hoxton Hotel, Williamsburg, for a pleasant stay.
